YWCA of Palestine

The YWCA has a distinguished record of working to protect the human rights of women and, in Palestine, is working to provide vocational training for women whose lives are caught in the economic calamity on the West Bank and in Gaza, an outcome of the Israeli occupation.  Refugee households are increasingly dependent on assistance from non-governmental organization. Less nutritious foods are more affordable for families. And salaries are spread widely over extended family groups. Women need to work to pay for food and for the education of children since men have less ability to pass through military checkpoints.

The YWCA also offers creative initiatives to offer ways for women to gather in safe space – to rest, relax and talk.

Pal Craftaid funds will be used this year to support job skills training for refugee women.
